Stress has become the default state
Around 75% of U.S. adults now say they experience stress on a regular basis, and at least two-thirds report that it shows up as physical symptoms: tension, fatigue, disrupted sleep, and difficulty focusing. Stress is no longer an occasional spike tied to a single event; for most people, it’s a constant, low-grade hum running underneath work, relationships, and daily life.
The tools available to manage it haven’t kept pace. Meditation apps ask for time and stillness that overstimulated nervous systems struggle to give. Clinical-grade neuromodulation devices work, but they’re expensive, medicalized, and built for a doctor’s office, not a commute or a work call. Between “download an app and hope” and “get a prescription-grade device,” there’s almost nothing that fits into a normal day.
Why hasn’t wearable nervous-system regulation gone mainstream yet?
The underlying science is well documented: bilateral stimulation, alternating rhythmic input delivered to both sides of the body, has been studied in clinical and research settings for its effects on the autonomic nervous system, including measurable increases in heart-rate variability and shifts toward parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) activity in response to rhythmic vibrotactile and peripheral nerve stimulation. What’s been missing is a version of that science that’s discreet enough to wear all day, simple enough to use without training, and personal enough to adapt to an individual’s own physiology rather than applying one generic setting to everyone.
Most consumer wellness wearables solve the “discreet” half of that problem and ignore the rest, tracking stress instead of doing anything about it in the moment. Most therapeutic neuromodulation devices solve the “effective” half and ignore accessibility, staying clinical, costly, and out of reach for daily use. Closing that gap, an unobtrusive device that senses what a person’s body is doing and responds accordingly, is the opportunity Evara was built to capture.
Evara is seizing this opportunity
Evara is a wearable device, worn on both wrists, that delivers gentle alternating vibrations designed to help the body shift into a calmer state, supporting stress relief, focus, and sleep. A companion app pairs with the device to guide breathing sessions, adjust waveform presets, and track biometric signals such as heart rate, heart rate variability, and respiratory rate, giving users a feedback loop between how their body is responding and how the device is tuned.

Our investment
We’re proud to be participating in Evara’s pre-seed round, alongside PAX VC, SweetSpot Capital, and strategic angels. This funding is going toward finishing a fully integrated hardware prototype and continued app development ahead of Evara’s planned consumer launch.
This investment aligns with several of IRV’s core themes:
- A massive market opportunity: Evara is targeting the $53B U.S. sub-market of people actively seeking tools for calm, focus, and sleep — a slice of three much larger, fast-growing categories it draws from: Mental Wellness ($178.4B, 7.45% CAGR), Wearable Technology ($211.8B, 34.9% CAGR), and Mobile App Subscriptions ($56.6B, 11.4% CAGR).
- We understand the potential of haptic technology and leading academic research: IRV is privileged to be part of the Innovobot ecosystem. The company has decades of world-leading expertise in haptic technology and has been developing advanced haptic solutions that bridge the gap between academic research and real-world product integration.
- An exceptional and driven team: Rather than raising large amounts of capital against a concept, Courtney and the Evara team have delivered a working hardware proof-of-concept, a complete app experience, and a brand people connect with, on a lean pre-seed budget.
We’re excited to back a founder who understands both the physiology behind nervous-system regulation and the day-to-day realities of building a hardware product people will actually want to wear.
“What stands out about Evara is the team’s strong focus on the user and their openness to expert guidance as they translate an ambitious idea into a real product. Haptics are not simply an added feature—the tactile experience is central to how the product is intended to support wellness. We have helped Evara select the appropriate haptic system and develop distinct bilateral stimulation patterns, and we are now working together to evaluate and refine those experiences with users.” – Manuel Cruz, Partner, Chief Scientist and Head of HMI Lab
What’s next
With its pre-seed complete, Evara is moving into fully integrated prototyping, with a consumer launch targeted for winter 2026. Stay tuned!
