What sort of job did you have in university? Bar tending at your local student pub? Flipping patties at a burger joint? Unlike the rest of us, Pedro Gregorio was working with NASA Astronauts.
“Like a lot of people, you’re attracted to super charismatic leaders” says Gregorio who, during his undergraduate degree, found himself drawn towards Professor John H.S. Lee who at the time was “at the peak of his power,” running the Combustion and Energy Systems Physics Labs in the Mechanical Engineering department at McGill University. During this time, Gregorio participated in the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) program with Professor Lee, which allowed him to participate in an experiment in the ‘Vomit Comet’ where he flew alongside NASA astronauts in zero-gravity, testing parabolic plates and the combustion parameters of clouds of dust, in other words, blowing a bunch of things up.
